eRPPs Increase Operator Safety in Critical Facilities
Safety is a top priority for LayerZero Power Panels. The innovative SafePanel® design fully encapsulates circuit breaker connections in a finger-safe recessed well. This ensures the safety of personnel by preventing arc flash hazards, which can occur when live conductors are separated.
The Series 70 eRPP features an IP-20, finger-safe panel board, meaning that the opening will not allow ingress of ½” (12.5mm) diameter probe. This provides maximum operator safety by making it impossible to accidentally touch live conductors.
The SafePanel® design also ensures that a potential arc would be contained in the connection well. This is because the components are deeply isolated from each other. As a result, even if a branch breaker were to be removed, the arc would be contained and would not pose a hazard to personnel.
By designing products specifically around NFPA-70E recommendations, LayerZero Power Panels provide optimal electrical safety. This minimizes the risk of accidents or electrical hazards, which can lead to serious injuries or death.
eRPPs Are Designed to Maximize Power Reliability
LayerZero Power Panels offer a comprehensive solution that increases both reliability and safety. One of the key features is selective trip coordination, which guarantees precise circuit shutdown in the event of a breaker trip. Selective Trip Coordination ensures that only the affected circuit is shut down, while simultaneously ensuring uninterrupted power supply to upstream devices. This capability is important in mission-critical environments, such as data centers, where even a brief disruption can have far-reaching consequences. By delivering seamless and continuous power distribution, LayerZero Power Panels effectively mitigate the risks associated with power outages, safeguarding the uninterrupted functionality of essential infrastructure.
Within the framework of LayerZero eRPPs (Web-Enabled Remote Power Panels), two distinct enhancements further amplify reliability. First, these panels are designed with a focus on finger-safe design. The panel board of the eRPP features a fully enclosed bus. Branch breakers are inserted into IP-20 (finger-safe) wells and securely fastened with non-conducting screws, significantly reducing the likelihood of accidents or electrical hazards.
The second reliability enhancement provided by LayerZero eRPPs is the incorporation of Selective Trip Coordination capabilities. The Series 70 eRPP features circuit breakers subjected to meticulous testing, ensuring Selective Trip Coordination up to 35 kAIC at 208V. In the event of a downstream fault, the branch breaker trips before the main breaker under fault conditions, effectively containing and addressing issues up to 35,000 AIC. These dual reliability advancements reinforce the safety and dependability of LayerZero eRPPs in applications that demand critical power distribution solutions.
