LayerZero Power Systems, a renowned designer of high-reliability power distribution equipment, has introduced the Series 70: ePanel-2. This new product is an 84-circuit wall-mounted panel board specifically designed for critical facilities requiring highly reliable electrical power. The compact design of the Series 70: ePanel-2 allows for easy wall mounting and is suitable for various applications such as computer rooms, hospitals, electrical rooms, and raised data center floors.
One of the key features of the Series 70: ePanel-2 is its selective trip coordination power distribution, ensuring that the main breaker will not trip in the event of a downstream fault. The breakers are equipped with a current limiting element that diverts the fault energy away from the contacts, providing protection for upstream devices. The branch breakers in the Series 70 ePanels offer selective tripping coordination of up to 25kAIC and can trip open in less than ¼ electrical cycle. Optional high-reliability NEMA 2-hole compression style input connections are available.
The ePanel-2 prioritizes safety with its finger-safe breakers, designed for easy installation and operator protection. It includes InSight IR™ portholes that allow operators to safely perform thermal scans and maintain the panel board and its connections. The ePanel-2 also minimizes open door time with a viewable polycarbonate window that displays the status of the mains and breakers.
The Series 70: ePanel-2 offers connectivity to open protocols such as Modbus, Bluetooth, http, and SNMP. Bluetooth connectivity enables remote panel setup capabilities, allowing users to customize panel directories, circuit breaker sizes, and poles. A single Category 5 cable provides access to all media, including waveform capture, panel setup, and remote monitoring.
With its power quality monitoring functionality, the Series 70: ePanel-2 enables operators to capture event-based waveforms and perform manual waveform captures. The ePanel-2 facilitates auditing of source-side and load-side distributions of voltage and current, and provides predictive planning for potentially overloaded circuits through high-watermark and overload alarms.
